How to Navigate My Blog

Welcome to Cervical Insemination! Here, I share my thoughts and experiences in a relaxed, conversational way. I don’t fancy myself a traditional writer; I’m simply a blogger sharing my voice—whether that’s charming or chaotic is up to you to decide.

My husband often jokes about how I express myself. You see, I have this tendency to infuse my words with lots of emotion, and while my singing voice may not be the best, I can’t help but emphasize words I find important. I also use a lot of hand gestures and my face tends to give away every little emotion I’m feeling. It’s almost dramatic, though I assure you there’s no intent behind it!

Translating my lively persona to the screen can be a bit challenging, but I do my best. For instance, I love using italics when I want to highlight something. If I’m in a hurry and can’t bother with coding, I’ll star my important words instead. I sometimes forget that what’s clear in my head doesn’t always translate to my readers, so bear with me!

You’ll notice I often write “GAH!”—it’s my way of expressing an annoyed gasp, not to be confused with a surprised “GASP!” When I say “Ugh,” it’s pure frustration and usually paired with a head shake. “Doh!” signifies a little mistake, much like an imaginary head slap. If I’m sighing, I’ll just write “sigh,” and for a big one, you might see it capitalized or italicized. “Whew” represents a feeling of exhaustion.

Now, “Woot!” is a fun one for me. I’ve never actually said it aloud, but it flows naturally when writing, always followed by a flurry of exclamation points! It’s like a cheer of excitement, reminiscent of a high five, which I might not always give in real life. Then there’s the internal debate of “Yeah” versus “Yay.” “Yay” is my enthusiastic approval, while “Yeah” is more of a casual agreement—imagine me nodding along.

When I’m feeling a bit whiny, “Wah!” captures that sentiment perfectly, and “Sob” is used when I’m really feeling it, not as an insult! I rarely use LOL, as it feels inauthentic. A chuckle gets a simple “ha!” and if I genuinely giggle, it’s a “hehe.” If something strikes me as sarcastically funny, I might even “snort.” LMAO is a rare occurrence, usually only after a drink or two! And then there’s “Oy,” which needs no explanation, right?

So there you have it! That’s me in a nutshell, and I hope this gives you a glimpse into my world. For more insights on related topics, you might find this post on modern family blog intriguing.
