So, you’ve decided to enroll your little one in a Montessori school? Here’s a glimpse into what you might expect, as shared through “daily reports”:
Ava had a fantastic first day! She seems so happy working independently. Admittedly, she’s a bit possessive of her space, but hey, she’s finding her groove! Today’s nap didn’t go so well during the drum circle, but we’re confident she’ll adapt soon 🙂
Lunch: avocado, peanut butter apples, and some ancient grains.
Ava is certainly making her presence known! She’s the loudest child in her class—if we gave out awards, she’d win “Most Vocal,” though we’re not about that, right? Thanks for the extra clothes! Just a heads up, we avoid anything with words, patterns, or colors, so we’ve outfitted her in a locally sourced hemp poncho. Super fun! 🙂
Ava loved the playground today! She’s building strength, but maybe not enough? Have you thought about installing a brachiation bar at home? Just grab some unblemished pine and find 14 feet of wall space. It’s a breeze!
Happy 2nd birthday to Ava! I apologize for sending back the three dozen personalized cupcakes 🙁 But we trust you all understand that the special birthday walk in the sunlight is the best treat ever!
Lunch: kale chips, kefir, and gluten-free crackers.
Ava had a wonderfully gender-neutral day! One of the substitutes mistook her for a boy 🙂 It’s thrilling to see her challenging traditional gender roles! Just a reminder that we’ll be closing early on Tuesday to celebrate the vernal equinox, so please pick up your little ones by 9:45 a.m.! Happy first quarter moon! 🙂
Lunch: oatmeal, nam pla, and persimmon.
Ava is really embracing her ambitions! It’s quite amusing considering she’s a Capricorn but acts like a Virgo. Have you thought about getting her astrological chart done? Our assistant guide is actually a certified astrologist, just so you know! 🙂
Funny story: Mason used Ava’s diapers to build a fort! Can you send more? In the meantime, we’re letting her roam free in the backyard. Happy free-range kiddo! Don’t forget, we have the Parent Education Night tomorrow at 4 p.m.! We’ll discuss “How to Say No Without Saying No” and other essential topics. Also, stay tuned for next month’s sessions on child-led potty training and crafting tiny chairs!
My apologies for the rash confusion! The full-body hives picture was obviously meant for Livvy’s parents! Did you receive the incident report? Lucien took Ava’s shape sorter, so she gave him a little jab with a baby mum-mum 🙁 Just a minor scratch, but could you sign the form and maybe hold off on sending sharp foods for a while?
Hello Montessori Pumpernickel Class parents! Just a reminder that you each have 50 hours of classroom volunteer work to complete by the end of the week to avoid the $400 fee! We’re looking for some help with a few projects: a master carpenter for custom reclaimed-wood bookshelves, a lepidopterist for a butterfly expedition, and an experienced kombucha-maker to care for our classroom SCOBY. Also, we’d love someone to guide the lower school in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. Email the office if you’re interested! More opportunities are coming soon!!!
What a wild day! The toddlers executed their mutiny plan and locked us all in the closet—LOL! 🙂
Lastly, we have a little situation: one of our friends has been showing up with “pink eye” and has been “spreading” it around! Not implying anything intentional, but we’ll be closed for an undetermined time for sanitization and sagebrush smudging. In conclusion, sending your child to a Montessori school can be quite the adventure. You’ll witness growth, creativity, and the occasional hilarious mishap. Embrace it all, and enjoy every moment!
