Dear Little Ones,
As your parent, my days are filled with teaching you the basics — like looking both ways before crossing the street or steering clear of hot pans, tangled cords, and questionable gum. Yet, amidst these crucial lessons, I’ve realized there are other insights you need to grasp that, while less dramatic, are just as vital for your happiness. I might mistakenly assume you already know these things, but judging by your reactions, it seems you could benefit from some parental wisdom. So, let’s explore a few valuable lessons I may have overlooked:
-
Naps Are Your Allies.
Contrary to your belief, nap time is not an enemy to be battled. Embrace it! Naps are a gift, a delightful luxury that allows you to recharge. When someone suggests snuggling into your cozy bed for a mid-day snooze, you should jump at the chance instead of resisting it like you’re missing out on the biggest party of the year. Trust me, once you understand that guilt-free naps are a rare treat, you’ll react to “Let’s nap!” with enthusiasm instead of despair. -
Grooming Is a Gift.
You often put up a fierce fight when it’s time for a nail trim, a haircut, or a bubbly bath. I’d have an easier time giving a cat a bath! Kids, these aren’t just chores; they’re services called manicures, pedicures, and haircuts that adults gladly pay for. You have a personal stylist on call 24/7, so relax and enjoy the pampering — it’s free and meant for you! -
Laundry is Pure Magic.
In your world, dirty clothes vanish into the hamper and reappear sparkling clean. Laundry is no small feat for us grown-ups; it requires sorting, washing, folding, and putting away. You have no idea how lucky you are to have someone doing that for you. Plus, you get a daily outfit chosen for you, so appreciate this little miracle instead of whining about your clothes. -
You Have a Personal Chef.
Let this sink in: you don’t have to worry about meal planning, grocery shopping, or cooking. Your only responsibility is to show up at the table for a (mostly) delicious meal. I even make sure your food is at the perfect temperature, sacrificing mine in the process. Next time you’re picking out “those yucky pieces,” remember the work that goes into providing your meals. -
Transportation is Effortless.
When was the last time you dealt with traffic jams, parking woes, or route planning? Oh right, never! You get to sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride while I handle everything. You’re lucky to have a chauffeur who ensures you arrive safely and without a care in the world — no tips required!
I hope this letter helps you see the importance of valuing these conveniences. You’re surrounded by luxuries that many people would envy. Appreciate the laundry service, personal chef, and chauffeur you have at your disposal. And remember, you’re not just kids; you’re living in comfort that many adults can only dream of.
Don’t wait until you’re older and miss these amenities — cherish them now.
With all my love,
Mommy
